Jogo is a special grade Cursed Spirit born from the “earth.”
In the story, he appears as a member of the Cursed Spirit group led by Suguru Geto. He faces Satoru Gojo quite early in the original work, specifically in chapter 13.
What is the origin of the name?
According to the official fanbook, Akutami-sensei gave an ambiguous answer, suggesting it might mean something like “desire leaking out.” Come on, be decisive! (laughs)
When asked about the motif, he said “Mount Fuji or a volcano.” It seems that the concept wasn’t initially set, so they decided on themes like fire (earth), grass (forest), and water (sea), similar to Pokémon.
